Covid-19 Protocols June 2021 Update
For the last 15 months, here at The Root, we have taken the threat of Covid-19 very seriously. Since we work with pregnant families and parents of young infants, we are very mindful of the fact that our clientele is often comprised of a higher-risk population and want to make sure we are always erring on the more conservative side of caution as things begin to reopen.

Covid-19 Protocols:
All teachers, support group facilitators & affiliate teachers are fully vaccinated.
Teachers will not come to the Root if they have any symptoms of illness or if they have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with Covid-19 within the previous two weeks.
Please, if you, as a student are feeling at all unwell, take advantage of the hybrid Zoom option and stay home.
All classes involving children and babies that cannot yet be vaccinated will still have a requirement that anyone over age 2 participating in class will need to wear a mask - regardless of vaccination status. We feel that this extra precaution will allow our families of young babies feel more confident in participating in the ever important in-person postpartum support without the added layer of concern. Jillian and I even joked that even without Covid we probably would've enjoyed people wearing masks around our infants during cold & flu season. We plan to keep this in place until vaccines are available for kids.
In the Adult Only Classes: we will not be requiring masks in our adult only classes, but will strongly encourage those who are unvaccinated to continue wearing masks in the group settings.
If the weather is nice then we will open up the big back door garage for air flow, and the hepa air filter will be going during every class.
For fitness classes, we will be re-implementing the Yes/No chip system for hands on assists/massage.
Hand Washing and Sanitizing Protocols
Students will be given hand sanitizer at the door of the studio
Teachers will wash their hands when entering the studio and immediately after class.
Hand Sanitizer will be available in all rooms. Use it as needed!
Wooden blocks, weights and fitness equipment, any baby equipment or loaned yoga mats and props will be sanitized between classes.
All high-touch areas will be highly sanitized between classes including:
Door handles (bathroom, small room, large room, front door, two office doors)

Class Check-In Procedures

Signing up and paying online via ScheduleBliss is preferred.
On ScheduleBliss you will see two options - one for in-person and one for online for each class where that is offered. If you are choosing online, your procedure will be the same as it has been. If choosing in-person, signing up ahead of time allows the teacher to know how many we will have showing up.
If you need to pay in-person Venmo or PayPal are preferable to cash/card changing hands.
While we aren't taking temperatures, there will be an additional Covid-19 related informed consent form for all in-person participants to read and sign.
Leave your props out after class so that teachers can collect and sanitize them.
