Support Groups

You deserve support and community on this journey. Each of our support groups has a distinct flow and content designed to be a resource and asset to you in whichever stage you’re experiencing now.

It takes a village. Find the group that’s right for you.

Babywearing Support Group

Join Camille on the 2nd Monday of the monthly to learn how to properly wear your baby. Bring your own carrier and also explore different and new carriers. You can also rent baby carriers from session to session for a fee.

Schedule: The next group will take place on Monday 3/11

LGBTQIA2S+ Parents’ Support Group

Join owner Kellie and her girlfriend, Emily each month for queer and diverse family support.

Babies and Toddlers are welcome. This group will take place on 4th Saturday from 2-4pm

Schedule: The next group will take place on 3/23

New Dad Support Group

Becoming a father is a huge life change but there is often very little safe, welcoming space for fathers to connect and share. This support group was built to fill this need and provide dads with the community they crave. This free group meets once a month so you can connect with other dads, gain a community, and have some fun! Group is led by Joe Linehan.

Schedule: Next Group TBD.

Perinatal Recovery Meetings (Weekly)

Following an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) / Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Format, these meetings will be led by Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor, Emily Duncan who is also in recovery. Root studio owner, Kellie, who is also sober, will be there to support these weekly meetings at The Root.

While all members of AA/NA are welcome, these meetings will be focused on pregnant and new parents struggling with addiction and recovery and may include 12 Step Study, Living Sober, Meditation and other Literature. Come as you are.

Schedule: These meetings will take place on Friday evenings 5:30-6:30pm starting March 8th

Parents’ “Sober Socials” Monthly Meetups

Our First “Sober Social” will be May 24th! The first couple meetups will likely take place somewhere else in Sacramento, while The Teetotalist is getting their new space up and running, but starting later in the summer, these monthly meetups will take place at:

The Teetotalist Social Club at 1700 I St. Ste. 130 Sacramento, CA!

We are thrilled to be offering a community gathering for other alcohol-free parents who want the community and connection of going out in a social setting, but without the alcohol.

Save the Date and stay tuned!

Schedule: These meetups will take place on 4th Fridays 7-8:30pm and begin in May!

Wellness. Education. Community.

From prenatal yoga to childbirth classes to postpartum support groups, we help pregnant persons and new parents thrive during every stage of their journey.
