Monthly Parenting Book Club with Emily
Hi Everyone! Welcome to book club/toddler parenting support group!
For the next 4 months (August - November,) we’re going to be reading and practicing some of the different parenting methods in the “How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen” book by Joanna Faber and Julie King.
We’ll be breaking out the book into 4 chunks and then we’ll commit to trying at least 1 new thing we’ve learned in the book a month and share stories on how it’s going. For any of our meetings, please RSVP on WellessLiving!
• For August 28th (6:30-8PM), we’ll be reading and trying some methods in the first 2 Chapters
• For September 25th (6:30-8PM), will be Chapters 3 and 4
• For October 24th (6:30-8PM), will be Chapter 5 and 5 and a Quarter
• For November 18th (6:30-8PM), will be Part 2 of the book
Our next book begins December 16th. We’ll be reading no more than 3 books a year to give ourselves the space to apply what we learn, rather than rushing through too many ideas at once.
Donation-Based New Parent Support Group
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
Fall Quarter Dates: Thursdays, 5:00-6:30 PM
This weekly support group is led by one of our Root Board Members, Nancy Pryor. Each will hold a safe container and space for new parents to come and get advice, support, community, camaraderie and feel a little bit less alone.
This group is for both birthing parents and partners alike.
Each session we'll go around the room and introduce ourselves and have a few min to share what's been going on for you this week on your parenting journey.
This group is open to all, both members and non-members! As this group is donation based, said donations to The Root Non-Profit are greatly appreciated, though not required.
Wellness. Education. Community.
From prenatal yoga to childbirth classes to postpartum support groups, we help pregnant persons and new parents thrive during every stage of their journey.
